Lyme Regis Town Band has established itself as an integral part of the town's social life.  The impetus for the formation of the current Band was a donation provided by an international film company following the filming, in Lyme Regis, of 'The French Lieutenant's Woman' by John Fowles, a resident of Lyme Regis. It has now grown to a full Concert Entertainment Band of 34 players (plus some young learners).

Lyme Regis have three teams playing in the Perry Street and District League. The first team play in the Premier division, the reserves in Division One and the Bantams in Division Four. They were formed in 1885 and are one of the oldest members of the Perry Street League. Lyme Regis play at their Davey Fort Ground and have a big pedigree in Dorset cup football over the years. Currently the teams play in Amber and Black.

Lyme Regis Sailing Club is situated next to the harbour at the foot of Cobb Hill. The well equipped clubhouse has a bar, galley, male and female changing facilities with showers, and a sun deck which overlooks the harbour and sea. The Club is open to all who desire to sail or who have an interest in the sport.

 Lyme Regis Sea School is an RYA Recognised Training Centre offering sailing tuition to both adults & children9. It is annually inspected and abides by all the requirements of the regulatory body. Lyme Regis Taekwondo Club is part of the Great Britain Chungdokwan and is also part of Weymouth and Dorchester Clubs.  It is the only WTF in the immediate area. If you wish to drive to the Cobb DO NOT RELY ON SAT NAV ONCE YOU ARRIVE IN LYME REGIS, IT WILL TAKE YOU INTO THE TOWN CENTRE - IT HAS BEEN TESTED!

National Rail  By train from London Waterloo Station  Take the Exeter St. David's train, operated by South West Trains. Get off at Axminster station (approx. 2 1/2 hours). Take the No. 31 bus from outside the station (hourly service; the bus destination is Weymouth). The journey is 25 minutes to Lyme Regis.
Alternatively, from Waterloo, take the Weymouth train. Get off at Dorchester South station. Take the No. 31 bus (the destination is Axminster) from the station. The journey is about one hour to Lyme Regis, through picturesque countryside.
